Dress me up

The beat of the drums fill the morning air.
The parade walks down town, people stand and stair.
red balloons, green, yellow take flight and ascend
in a measured flow, up and away.
I am naked, more naked than you had ever seen me, with lights on, outside,
I am standing naked ,I am not shying away, you are not here and after you
what does it matter, me nude in all my glory, without your stare
I am just another body, without my gender, I even don't recognize myself,
without you my breast don't peak, my sex does not heave
my skin does not sing, and my lips, oh my lips
lost orphans desperate

I ask myself
If I am here, does any one
see me, trespassing a dream, am I ?
I ask myself, why no one talks, no one comes,
no one touches me, no one stares. as If I 've disappeared
Just walked away, the day you picked your old brown suit case
you stayed inside my head and I went away.................

I have to wait
for you to come back,
bring me back my gray dress
the one with little red flowers around its edges
for you to dress me patiently, with my arms up my neck
you cover me, and your hand touches my skin, I feel you
with shoes on my feet you would take me away
we will walk the crowd, as the parade marches down town

she stands

She stands naked in the mirror as she watches his back , he walks away,
a tear fills her eye.

you shall overcome

Follow the man walking toward the sun, and chant gain, -- We shall overcome-
we have been quiet for so long, wallowing in despair, waiting for redemption
so chant again, loud, loud, -we shall, we shall overcome
bring your empty cups, wooden spoon and all
he awaits, on top of the hill
beneath the Joshua tree
with joy of tears
and the songs
in his heart.

feel the life
that takes flight
under your skin, inside
beneath the flesh and bones
that is not all you are, awake your ethereal
soul, and chant loud, loud, -- we shall, we shall overcome
pass the words, mouth to mouth, hold the hands that hold hands
let the words be your guide, your boat, your caravan, your kite

for there
where we are delivered
on top of the hill, beneath the Joshua tree
he awaits, joys in his tears, whispering under lips
You shall, you shall overcome

Mediocrity

" the hardest battle of every man is against mediocrity", I said. She looked at me , her face pensive and surprised.
" you mean for you, your hardest battle in life? ", She asked. " I guess for me and many of my elk, we do not fit our aspirations, and somewhere we lose our resolve to reach, and then we have to compromise , we have to settle for what remains." I answered.

" and what is that remains ?". she asked. "life in its quiet spherical motion, in its everyday flow, in its habitual comfort",
I said. " And is there anything wrong with that ?", she asked. " Not really, you play the hand you are dealt, but there is a conscious tension in you, a longing for what it could be", I said.
